From fights with neighbors to a mysterious death of a parent, six people facing inquiry had warrants tracking them to Collier County.

A manslaughter warrant recently served to a 24-year-old Connecticut man sparked conversations in his hometown, as well as across Southwest Florida.

He is one of several people arrested in Collier County in the past five years, each accused in the death of another in different parts of the U.S. and U.S. territories.

The arrest of Michael Matthew Talbot on Jan. 5 on vehicular manslaughter charges is one of six warrants for manslaughter or homicide the Collier County Sheriff's Office has served in the past five years.

According to the arrest warrant out of Connecticut, shared by a family liaison, shortly after 2 a.m. Dec. 3, 2022, Stamford, Connecticut, Police said Talbot fled in his car fled after he struck the two pedestrians, later identified as Giovani Vega-Benis and Yuliana Arias-Lozano, both 25.

Here's a look at the other homicide and manslaughter warrants served in the county between 2018 and 2022:

Thomas Brown: May 18, 2022

Brown, 21, who was arrested locally under the alias of Tradarrius Porter, was taken into custody after he fled deputies during a traffic stop in Immokalee.

He faced murder and attempted murder charges Pike County, in Mississippi.

According to aFacebook postfrom the Pike County Sheriff's Office, Brown is wanted for a March 18 shooting.

A 3-year-old was shot in the foot and another man was shot twice in the back, officials said. The mandied from his injuries.

Jozsef Piri: Dec. 16, 2021

Detectives with the Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested Jozsef Piri, 50, as he exited the Publix grocery store in the 15200 block of Collier Boulevard, in Naples.

Piri had an active warrant issued by Vermont State Police for second-degree murder in a road rage shooting incident. He was arrested and held without bond.

Vermont court records indicate he's next due in court March 2.

Zachary Latham: Feb. 4, 2021, and May 3, 2021

Deputies arrested Latham, 20, on Feb. 4, 2021 regarding an arrest warrant out of New Jersey for failure to appear in a manslaughter case.

On May 3, 2021, deputies served Latham a warrant from New Jersey Gov. Philip Murphy.

According to the warrant, Latham faced six charges without bond — one manslaughter count; two aggravated assault counts; two unlawful weapon possession counts; and a weapon possession count.

Latham was charged in thefatal stabbing of a neighbor in New Jersey,an off-duty South Woods State Prison corrections officer. The pair had a series of confrontations along their street, a Cumberland County prosecutor said. He was free pending court action in the homicidecase.

In New Jersey, Latham faces charges offirst-degree aggravated manslaughter in connection with the homicide of William “Timmy” Durham Sr., also of Thornhill Road.

Luis Enrique Ortiz-Rodriguez: Sept. 29, 2020

On Sept. 29, 2020, deputies with the Collier County Sheriff's Office contacted Ron Muniz, a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Muniz said Ortiz-Rodriguez, 25, was in a building in the 8600 block of Barot Drive. Ortiz-Rodriguez was sitting in the back porch area when authorities arrived.

Ortiz-Rodriguez had a warrant out of Puerto Rico dated June 8, 2018, for homicide. Deputies arrested him without bond.

Additionally, authorities arrested him on a second warrant out of Rockingham County, Virginia, dated June 23, 2019, on charges of shooting from a car; reckless handling of a firearm; and marijuana possession.

Jennifer Helen Clow: June 16, 2019

According to New Hampshire's Department of Justice, Clow, 53, was arrested in Naples on a fugitive from justice charge, based on an arrest warrant issued June 15, 2019. She faces several charges, including second-degree murder in New Hampshire for causing the death of her mother, Sally A. Miller.

Miller, 72, was found dead in her home after a welfare check.

Naples Police officers set a perimeter around the Ramada Inn Hotel, 1100 Ninth St., and arrested Crow when she came out.

In June 2021, Clow was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Trevorn Lake: Jan. 27, 2018

Deputies with the Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested Lake, 30, on first-degree murder; first-degree assault and third-degree possession of a firearm.

His first court hearing there was on April 14, 2020.

The U.S. Virgin Islands Police issued the warrants. Records from the Superior Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands indicate that the case against Lake, filed Feb. 1, 2018, was dismissed without prejudice Jan. 3 of this year.

The records indicate Lake faced six charges from May 16, 2017 — one count of first-degree murder; three counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm; one count of first-degree assault with intent to commit murder; and one count of third-degree assault.

Lake had pleaded not guilty to all six charges.

Court records alleged Lake committed the murder in a highly trafficked area of Smith Bay in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
