You can obtain the Star-Lined Sword Katana in the Cerulean Coast region by defeating the Demi-Human Queen Marigga boss. While it’s possible to acquire it fairly early in the game, the region is fairly far, but should you avoid any distractions along the way, the trek will prove a lot smoother.
How To Reach The Cerulean Coast
To get to the Cerulean Coast, you'll first want to reach the Castle Front Site of Grace. This is where you'll want to start from and this can be done by crossing the Ellac Greatbridge just north of the starting area.
From the Site of Grace, head east along the road while sticking to the mountain wall. You'll then be able to descend into a valley with a giant crab and some Miranda Sprouts, and west of this area you'll find the entrance to the Ellac River Cave.
Enter it, and head up the path on the left. As you continue southeast in the cave, you'll reach a cavern, where you can find the cave's Site of Grace and exit point. To the south will be a massive ravine, which you'll then need to cross by platforming through stone pillars to reach the Ellac River Downstream Site of Grace located to the south.
Be sure to grab a Revered Spirit Ash to strengthen your Spirit Ashes in the room preceding the one where you activate the Ellac River Cave Site of Grace.
Near the Site of Grace, you'll notice a ghost NPC mentioning a region laden with breathtaking flowers. That's our destination, and luckily it's only a short distance away. From there, you can continue south along the river stream until a Furnace Golem comes into view.
Here, you'll want to keep to the cliffs on the right while avoiding the enemy until you pass through an archway. This marks your entry into the region known as the Cerulean Coast, and further up you'll find the Site of Grace.
In the field up ahead from the Grace, you'll be ambushed by a Ghostflame Dragon.
The Demi-Human Queen Marigga is stationed on a beach to the northwest of the region, and to get to her, you'll first want to work your way to the western edge for the Cerulean Coast West Site of Grace.
This will act as a nearby respawn point, and from there you simply need to head through the ravine passage to the northeast while hugging the left wall to reach the boss.
You can find a Scadutree Fragment in a small cave just before reaching the boss.
How To Beat The Demi-Human Queen Marigga
The Demi-Human Queen Marigga is a field boss, meaning you can take advantage of Torrent to beat her. Like other Demi-Human bosses, she is surrounded by her minions, and you can spot a few dozen of them swarming the beach.
Your goal is to thin out her minions by taking them on one at a time before she notices you. Otherwise, the fight can quickly become congested, and you may get overwhelmed by enemies, leading to almost certain defeat.
By herself, though, the boss isn't much of a problem. Like other Demi-Human chiefs, she has a relatively small health pool. She uses two types of Glintstone Magic as ranged attacks and will try to strike you with her staff if you get close.
Luckily, her attacks are mostly telegraphed, making it easy to anticipate and dodge them with rolls. Upon defeating her, you will be awarded with the coveted Star-Linked Sword Katana and 100,000 Runes.
Star-Lined Sword Katana, Explained
Like the Moonveil Katana, the Star-Lined Sword is a magical katana that primarily scales off Dexterity, followed by Intelligence. Equipping the weapon requires ten Strength, 23 Dexterity, and 21 Intelligence, while Somber Smithing Stones are needed to upgrade it.
To maximize its potential, you'll want to commit to your Dex stat for raw physical damage and Int stat for massive magic damage with the Weapon Skill, as the weapon receives a B and D scaling in these stats, respectively, when fully upgraded.
While the Star-Lined Sword comes equipped with the usual Katana moveset, it boasts a unique and powerful Weapon Skill in Onze’s Line of Stars, setting it apart from the rest.
Using the weapon skill three times sees the user performing a slice and dice combo that is topped off with an impressive vanishing slam from above. The Magic damage also increases progressively as the combo persists, and the best part of it all is that it doesn't consume a lot of FP.
