Firing toward the horde that followed behind you almost on top of your heels. One bullet fired from your gun, smoke flew off the side as the casing hit the ground much softer than the body that dropped with a thud. Blood spilled out from the side of its head where the bullet entered, the weak spot on these almost immortal beasts that attacked you and many many others. A smirk appeared on your face as you turned back to face forward. Racing down that street like you have been doing for almost an hour at this rate. Sweat dripped from your brow as you ran, even the cool autumn breeze that filled the air couldn't cool you off at this rate. Knowing you were running out of bullets and quick at this rate in time. Especially after the beginning of this hellfest you entered, not even knowing how to defend yourself against these foul beings. Bullet after bullet, several clips of ammo gone in only an hour going on two. Yet it felt like you were running in circles at this rate, not even knowing where to turn to in this hell hole. No where was safe even the spots you ran too that you thought would be. Everything was just pure chaos anymore and there was nowhere to hide.
There was no person insight, or a living person in sight is what you should say since those monsters were technically human once. Their groans grew louder as they raced behind you, groaning as they toppled over each other with their arms stretched out to try to capture you. As one fell it seemed like more seemed to follow from the noise, sooner or later you wouldn't be able to keep ahead of them. But now was not the time, you needed to fight through the shortness of breath and the tiredness in your legs in order to save yourself from a certain agonizing death.
Your boots squeaked as you raced around the corner, the street lights that flickered were your only way of seeing at this point in time with how dark it had gotten. Yet as your attention was drawn to the lights, your foot accidentally caught on to some uneven path you ran down. With a Yelp you fell to your knees with a thud, scraping them up pretty bad off the uneven ground below you. You stayed there for longer than you liked, trying to gather yourself again before taking off from how tired you had gotten. Thinking that just maybe you could take a second to just take in a deep breath before leaving once more. Yet before you even knew it the zombies were right there like you had expected earlier. A scream that left your lips that could be heard from anywhere as gun shots fired. One fell as you unloaded two bullets in to it's skull, panicking at this point from how frightened you were for your life. You turned your gun to face the other that walked slowly. As you were about to pull the trigger your gun clicked over and over, almost like the safety was switched on.
"Oh f*ck not now! Why would you jam now of all times!" You exclaimed as you tried to unjam your gun in your hands, you started to tremble under the pressure as the beast walked closer. At this rate you didn't even want to look up out of fear of what was bound to come. Your demise you foretold but never wanted to happen. In your few last attempts of unjamming the gun. You held it up to try and shoot again, hearing the same outcome as before. You watched as the zombie limped forward, its arms outstretched as it moaned and groaned. Blood dripped from its mouth as it salivated for your flesh it was about to eat. It was so close you could smell its rotten flesh clearly, it lunged forward about to take a bite from you. But before it could a gun shot ran out throughout the area, you opened your eyes to see the zombie fall to the ground with a loud thud. Blood and brain bits spilled on to the ground as the rain started to fall from the utterly gloomy sky above. You gasped, trying to catch your breath as you searched around for who was your savior.
That was when your eyes landed on a man with a black jacket covering his button up and white t shirt standing there with his gun upright in his grasp. His look of concern was prominent but he kept his stance ready. His gaze matched yours as he stared at you clueless, you didn't know whether to cry or to draw your gun out of fear. Before you could make a decision though, more groans erupted from your left down the ally way. You stood up straighter then before as you heard them. Finally seeming to get your gun undone, the bent bullet casing fell out the side as you stood there.
